Gionee is highlighting the 4G and VoLTE support on the Device. While this makes the phone future proof, the fact that VoLte will only be available on Reliance Jio to start with means that the VoLTE advantage will be limited to a small set of users. Camera performance is another highlight of the device. The 13MP primary camera as well as the 5MP front camera take pictures with good details and rich colors in all kinds of light. Even low light images are good to view on phone and share on social networks. There are multiple shooting modes available including manual mode, animated GIF, ultrapixel, HDR and so on. Video quality is daylight as well as indoors was top notch. Hardware includes an Octa core mediate MT6753 processor, 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage. For the asking price, these specifications are not the best. You can get similar specifications on phones at half the price. That being said, performances in not an issue because it can run games and full HD video without any issue. Moreover, the phone had over 1GB RAM free for the use most times for smooth multitasking. Battery life is stellar: the 3,150 mAh battery easily lasts a full day of use. With the battery saving mode enabled, this can go up to a day and a half. Also and this is a feature not mentioned any where , the USB Type-C port is capable of fast charging the battery. We plugged in the phone with 10% battery for an hour and ended up with 50%.
Our main issue with the Gionee S6 is the steep price. The Rs.20k price tag seems too steep considering that similar hardware and features are available on Le 1s and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. These phones are priced lower and come with the added bonus of fingerprint sensor.

The Gionee S6 has great design and an amoled screen – but these two features alone can’t justify the price tag. Xiaomi and Le Eco offer similar phones with more features at half of the price.
